Meet Sandra DeLuca, MSW, LICSW, C-ASWCM and ALCA New England Chapter Member Since 2009

October 16, 2023   |   Special Spotlight

Where do you practice, Sandra?

Our office is in Newton, MA. We provide services in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. I work out of Newton and have a small caseload on the South Shore and Cape Cod.

What led you to the profession of Aging Life Care?

I had a passion for working with older adults as I was completing graduate school. My internships were focused on this population and I had spent 2 years navigating the systems meant to support older adults. The amazing people I met along with the frustrations of navigating complicated systems led me to care management, where I felt I could actually make a difference.

What resources or services do you frequently recommend to your clients to help them navigate the aging process more effectively?

I often recommend whatever can help educate my clients to empower them to be in control. I encourage them to ask questions and bring in supports before they think they really need them.

What is one piece of advice you can offer to those new to Aging Life Care?

To be present with your clients, really listen to them. You are their partner for this part of their lives and that is a pretty big deal!

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

In my free time, I enjoy being home with my family. We like to go to the beach on nice days and travel out West to visit family whenever we can.
